How Should I Gather My Files
Using Adobe Illustrator?
Adobe Illustrator does not have a collect for output or package command. You must collect the linked images and necessary fonts manually.
1. Create a folder for your collected job, Name this folder with your company's name/initials and the version/date of the submitted file.
2. Within this folder, place a copy of the layout Illustrator file and create two additional folders, one for fonts and one for images.
3. Place copies of any linked images into the images folder (refer to the links palette in Illustrator when the layout file is open for a list of linked image files).
4. Place copies of all the fonts on that font list in your fonts folder (go to Type>Find Font for a list of fonts used in the document).
5. Using Stuffit, winzip, or your operating system's archive utility, stuff the folder created in step #1 above and all it's contents. The resulting file should be named as the folder was for your company's name/initials and the version/date of the submitted files.
